WAIMEA LIONS 2024-2025 SCHOLARSHIP & INSTALLATION LUNCHEON

Aloha!

Here is a quick recap of the fantastic Waimea Lions Club Scholarship and President Installation Luncheon we had today. It was such an inspiring and heartwarming event, filled with moments that really showcased the spirit of our community.

We kicked things off with a delicious lunch—big mahalo to Allen Hess, Chef/Owner of FORC for the amazing lunch selection. It was the perfect way to set the tone for the afternoon.

Acacia receiving her Scholarship Certificate

The scholarship ceremony was definitely the highlight. We awarded our Penhallow Scholarship to a remarkable student from Parker School, Acacia Blyth. Acacia will be attending Tufts University and Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. It was an honor to celebrate her achievements and support her future endeavors.

After the scholarships, we moved on to the installation of our new president. We were honored to have PDG Mitch Tam of the Kona Lions Club perform the installation ceremony. Mahalo to Lion Mitch for your thoughtful and encouraging words. Our new president, David McDonough, showed nervousness enthusiasm, and vision for the upcoming year were truly inspiring. We're all looking forward to seeing the great things that are in store under his leadership.

Throughout the event, there was a real sense of camaraderie and community. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. The support and encouragement from everyone in the room were palpable, and it was great to see so many familiar faces, as well as some new ones.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organize the luncheon and to all who attended. Your presence made it special. Let’s keep this momentum going and continue to make a positive impact in our community.
